5 Most Expensive Divorces in the World

Web Desk - Microsoft founder and the world's fourth-richest man Bill Gates and his wife Milanda Gates have since decided to divorce.  It has since been speculated that it could be the most expensive divorce in world history.

While Bill Gates and Milanda outlined the reasons for the split in the statement, they had just vowed to continue working together for their welfare foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

NO:1 Bill Gates & Milinda Gates

According to Bloomberg, Bill Gates' assets are worth 6 146 billion.  Under US law, in the event of a divorce, Bill Gates would have to pay half of his fortune to Milinda Gates, which could be about ً 73 billion.

Thus, a divorce between couples can be the most expensive divorce in the world.

NO:2 Jeff Bezos & Mackenzie

Remember that before Bill Gates' divorce decision, the divorce of Jeff Bezos, the founder of the American e-commerce company 'Amazon', which took place in 2019, was the most expensive divorce in the world.

After 25 years of marriage, Jeff Bezos paid his wife Mackenzie  38 billion for a divorce, making her the third richest woman in the world.

According to Forbes Magazine, Mackenzie donated more than 4 billion dollars to 384 charities organizations last year.

NO:3 Alec Stein & Jocelyn Welder Stein

The third most expensive divorce is that of an American businessman Alec Welder Stein in 1999, in which he paid his wife Jocelyn Welder Stein 2.5 billion.

In addition, he paid 100 million a year for 13 years.  She is also known as "Kate Woman" after undergoing plastic surgery several times.  She has had 100 million in surgery so far.

According to Reuters, the court had barred Jocelyn from spending the proceeds of the divorce on plastic surgery.

NO:4 Rupert Murdoch & Anna Murdoch

Number four is media and business tycoon Rupert Murdoch's divorce.  Prior to the 1999 divorce, Rupert Murdoch had been married for 32 years.

In the divorce, Rupert Murdoch paid his wife, Anna Murdoch, 1.7 billion dollars. That included 110 million dollars in cash.  Just 17 days after the divorce, Rupert Murdoch married a model 38 years his junior.

NO:5 Bernie Axelsson Stone & Slovakia

The fifth most expensive divorce is the divorce of former Formula One chief executive and British businessman Bernie Axelsson Stone.  As a result, he paid his wife, Slovakia,  1.2 billion.

But under an extraordinary deal, Bernie continued to receive 100 million dollars a year from his ex-wife's trust fund.
